In Flight

This series combines traditional Intaglio printmaking techniques with drawings that break the impressed border of the copper plate. The ephemeral nature of birds in flight is explored through movement and line. A scumbling drawing technique breaks the defined borders and allows the viewer to imagine flapping wings, wind or even decay. Indeed this series portrays a more menacing side of birds with elongated and exaggerated claws.
